「あらしのような拍手」の巻。

この前の日曜日(４月９日）の出来事、といえばこれ。
またぁ～なんて言わないで下さいね。

阪神タイガースの金本選手が９０４試合連続フルイニング出場
という世界新記録を達成した日・・・

この日は日曜日にもかかわらず、わがオットは仕事でした。
それで、６時半頃、かかってきた電話に向かって
A:わたしから・・・

A: He did it!!

B: Who did what?

A: Today Kanemoto broke the Ripken's world record,

B: Oh, it happened today.

A: It was a really dramatic game, each team member
　　went all out to win.

B: Well, did they win?

A: Yes, of course, although the score was tied once.
　 And after the game, they had a ceremony to hono
　　his achievement.　When Kanemoto appeared on
　　the field, there was a storm of applause.

B: I wish I could have watched....

A: やったで！

B: 何？

A: 今日、金本が新記録達成したんやん。

B: おぉ、今日やったんかぁ。

A: 劇的ないい試合やった。選手みんなが全力で勝とうとしてさぁ。

B: で、勝ったん？

A: もちろん！一回同点に追いつかれたけど・・・
　 試合終わってから、金本の祝賀セレモニーがあってんで。
　金本がグランドに現れたときは、あらしのような拍手やったわ。

B: へぇ～見たかったなぁ・・・

■　go all out　　全力を挙げる、全力を尽くす

　　　　「～を得ようとして」と表現する場合は、うしろに for ＋名詞
　　　　to 不定詞、for ～ing で表します。

■　a storm of applause　　あらしのような拍手

　　　　a storm of ～　で（弾丸・喝采・ののしりなどが）
　　　　「あらしのような～、～雨あられ」という風に
　　　　～が激しく盛大であることを描写します。
